Kemimoto describes its approach as OEM-based development, meaning parts are engineered against factory dimensions rather than adapted from universal fits. That is why so much of the catalog is model-specific rather than one-size-fits-most.
Where Kemimoto Parts Are Made, and Is Kemimoto a Real Company
These are the two questions buyers actually search, so here is the straight answer.
Kemimoto is a real, established company. Founded 2011, more than 500 employees, a US corporate office in Rowland Heights, California, US warehouses, an official presence on Amazon and eBay, an authorized dealer network and published warranty and return policies. It runs a booth at events including the Sand Sports Super Show and Xtreme Outlaw. It is not a drop-ship storefront.
Manufacturing is overseas, primarily China. Kemimoto does not present itself as a US manufacturer, and product country-of-origin records list China. That is worth knowing plainly rather than discovering after the fact. It is also the reason the pricing works: this is not a US-machined part sold at a US-machined price.
What that means practically. You are buying engineered-to-fit parts at roughly half the cost of the premium US-built tier, with warranty terms that are shorter and a replacement process that puts more of the shipping and labor cost on you. For a soft door, a cargo box, a set of mirrors or a soundbar, that trade is one most riders take happily. For a load-bearing suspension or driveline part, think harder about it.

How to choose. If you want music at trail volume and lighting for camp, the original Midnight 80 does it for a third of the Gen2 price. If you ride in a group and want every machine playing the same track, broadcast sync on the Gen2 line is the feature nobody else at this price offers. If your cage is crowded and you want the bar out of the way, go Midnight 90 roof-mount.
Two specs to check before ordering. Roll bar diameter, because the ranges differ across the line. And whether you are buying Gen1 or Gen2, because both are sold as "Midnight 80" and the difference is 240W versus 680W.
Kemimoto Build Quality: What the Price Actually Buys
Kemimoto engineers to factory dimensions rather than selling universal parts, and that shows up in fit. Floor mats are cut per model. Doors are built per cage. Turn signal kits are plug-and-play against the machine's own harness rather than spliced.
Where the materials hold up well. Marine-grade aluminum alloy on the soundbar housings with IP65 and IP66 sealing, tested from −20°C to 85°C, well past anything a Wisconsin winter produces. Aviation-grade aluminum on the door and rack hardware. TPE floor mats, which stay flexible in cold where cheaper PVC mats go stiff and crack. Powder-coated steel on racks and nerf bars. Full doors pair a PC upper for visibility with a PP lower for scratch resistance, which is a smarter build than a single-material panel at this price.
The one spec that defines the tier. Kemimoto polycarbonate windshields are 1/5-inch thick. The premium US-built brands run 1/4-inch. Both are rated 250 times more impact-resistant than glass, and both numbers come from the manufacturers themselves. That 20% difference in material is, in a single figure, the whole gap between the two tiers. It is also why a Kemimoto windshield costs roughly half as much.
Poly or glass, since our own catalog carries both. Polycarbonate wins on impact and weighs less. Laminated glass wins on scratch resistance and glare, and it takes a wiper. Neither is better outright. If branches are your problem, buy poly. If windshield haze after three seasons is your problem, buy glass and plan on two people for the install.
Where the tells are. Soft goods are the honest limit. Zip windows on soft doors and cab enclosures are the part riders replace first, and vinyl clarity fades faster than polycarbonate. Fabric and zippers are wear items on any brand at this price. If the machine lives outside year-round in the sun, a hard door or a poly windshield will outlast a soft one, and that is true regardless of who makes it.
What almost never comes back. Mirrors, storage boxes, mats, tie downs, cargo nets, phone mounts and grab handles. Simple parts, tight tolerances, nothing structural. This is the heart of the catalog and it is genuinely good.
The honest boundary. Kemimoto is an accessory and comfort brand that also makes some hard parts. For suspension geometry, axles, portals and driveline, the premium US-manufactured tier still earns its price. For everything that makes the machine more usable, Kemimoto is frequently the smarter buy.
Kemimoto Pricing: Where the Catalog Actually Sits
The price distribution across our Kemimoto catalog is unusually bottom-weighted, and it tells you exactly what this brand is for. Of roughly 1,240 products, about 43% sit under $100 and 62% sit under $150. Fewer than five percent are above $400.
The budget entry, $20 to $100. This band holds 537 products and it is the deepest part of the catalog. Linq anchors, cage-clamp and magnetic mirrors, door nets, cooling fans, floor mats, bed mats, dashboard bags, tail lights, seat covers, whip light mounts, turn signal kits. The sweet spot, $100 to $250. About 460 products, and where most buyers land. Nerf bars and rock sliders, tailgate extenders, bed liners, RGB soundbars, LED headlight kits with integrated turn signals, storage boxes, rear windshields, fender flare sets, aluminum roofs. Full model-specific engineering, real materials, and the warranty is the same as on the top of the line.
The premium tier, $250 to $2,600. Around 240 products. Aluminum half doors, the Midnight Gen2 soundbars, overhead fan systems, large lockable cargo boxes, flip and glass windshields, 29-gallon bed boxes, complete cab enclosures and full door kits. Can-Am Defender MAX aluminum half doors run about $1,298, and a CFMOTO UForce 1000 XL full door kit with sliding windows tops the range at $2,597.99. Even here the pricing runs well under the comparable US-manufactured part, which is the entire reason the brand exists.
The most common warranty is between 3–6 months, but Side By Side Source does offer extended 1- and 2-year warranties on all products if that is something you are interested in. You can add the extended warranty right at checkout. Kemimoto's own manufacturer terms below run alongside that rather than instead of it.
Kemimoto Warranty Terms: The Accurate Version
There is a widely repeated claim that Kemimoto covers everything for six months. That is not what their policy says, and buying on that assumption will cost somebody a claim.

- Coverage is to the original purchaser only, with proof of purchase required.
- Approved warranty returns must ship back within seven days of approval. Extensions are possible but you have to ask.
- You pay return shipping and provide tracking. You carry the risk of loss until Kemimoto receives the item.

Kemimoto Return Policy
45 days from the delivery date for a full refund on unused product. That is longer than most of the aftermarket and genuinely good.
The conditions are strict on packaging:
- Original packaging required, including boxes, bags and protective material.
- Damaged original packaging is not accepted. The item is no longer considered new.
- All tags, booklets, instructions and stickers must be in the box. Apparel tags must still be attached.
- You pay return shipping on preference returns.
- If Kemimoto shipped the wrong item or the product has a quality issue, they cover return shipping and process within three business days.
- Gift cards issued through membership upgrades are not refundable.
Practical translation: do not throw the box away until the part is on the machine and you are happy with it.
