Polaris’s rise to prominence was not an accidental one. They’ve spent the better part of a century, in fact, continually reiterating on their lineup as riders give their feedback. This has led to constant refinements and design tweaks that all have one thing in common: giving you more functionality and grit in real, everyday situations. The Polaris lineup of today may not look anything like their earlier stock on the surface, but behind all the advanced suspension systems, electronic power steering, turbo engines and other bells and whistles is the same spirit of toughness and practicality at work. As for the future, this machine is showing no signs of slowing, and we’re loving every minute of it.
The current Polaris lineup of hard-working side-by-sides has a little something for everybody, and that was most certainly by design (pun intended). For example, if you just need something nimble and efficient to get you into those awkward spots that other machines struggle with, the Polaris ACE might be the vehicle for you. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the XD 1500 is a seriously powerful beast with a work capacity (including hauling) that may surprise you. Rangers are the all-around GOAT when it comes to raw utility. They can be spec’ed out to handle just about anything, whether we’re talking about simpler chores around the farm or heavier commercial work.
On the performance side, we can’t neglect to give the adrenaline drip that is the Polaris RZR a shoutout. This thing is a serious contender on the track or trail, thanks to sport-tuned suspensions and engines that absolutely melt even the toughest of trails. And then you have the General, which is a nice go-between if you can’t decide whether you want a Ranger or a RZR. As you can see, each model is built with purpose, intention, and personality.
Which Polaris should I go for if I’m looking for performance and work capacity?
While the Ranger is no slouch on the trail per se, if you really want to strike that balance between the two, the Polaris General is always a great choice. This thing will haul and tow with the best of them, unhitch, and take off like a true performance vehicle.
Is Polaris a good brand if I want a seriously tough work vehicle?
Yes, Polaris specifically builds most of its machines for tough, everyday work applications.
What makes Polaris different from other UTV manufacturers?
Polaris is all about the results. Though they have delivered some seriously impressive specs on paper, that isn’t their primary focus. They have always kept a rider-first perspective, making sure that their vehicles hold up under high demands and in all kinds of environments/applications.
